LI-COR Biosciences designs, manufactures, and markets instruments for biological and environmental research. LI-COR is based out of Lincoln, NE, with subsidiaries in Germany and the United Kingdom.
The company began as Lambda Instruments Corporation and produced instruments designed to measure environmental conditions. It expanded its portfolio and launched the biotechnology department. The biotechnology department produces instruments and reagents for the analysis of western blot assays, cell-based assays, in vivo imaging, etc. As the founder and leader of Near-IR imaging, LI-COR supports customers in academia, industry, and government all over the world.
LI-COR has taken its Near-IR technology into the medical field with its Imaging probes and agents that are conjugated to IRDye® Infrared Dyes. These probes and dyes are currently in more than 20 Phase I and Phase II clinical trials worldwide.
